grow your team

(through nature!)

Whether it’s a staff retreat, board member thank-you, professional development, self-care for the team, conference session, or student field trip,

Emberwood has three opportunities to choose from:

Nature Retreat Solos

  • We are experts at facilitating immersive nature experiences and digital detoxes. Your team will leave the retreat feeling more energized, creative, and with fresh insight into their work and lives.

We can facilitate daytime workshop activities or guided, immersive, overnight retreats. We offer front-country (cabins) and backcountry (tents or shelters) retreats, either 1 or 2 nights, plus training.

For example, these immersive nature experiences can be designed to include transportation, food, and eco-therapy guides. Your team will stay in simple, heated cabins and eat around the fire each night. They will be supported in experiencing all our core mindfulness practices and return to the office happier and healthier!

Please inquire for detailed information package.

Nature Ritual Workshop

  • This is a wonderful introduction to relaxing, grounding, eco-art therapy. Participants will arrange an eco-art piece, known by many names: nature constellation, hearth, mantle, home base, “place to return to”, nature ritual space, centrepiece, nature sanctuary or sit-spot. By creating patterns with objects from nature, participants de-stress, calm down, feel alive, and feel well.

    45 min - 2 hours, 1-2 facilitators

    Interactive, hands-on, experiential

    No experience needed

We provide the rocks, cones, twigs, candles, string, etc for your process. You may also take some of these items home to return to and enjoy.

Warmth Workshop

  • Learn to dress for the weather! This is a skill everybody thinks they have, but they really don’t know how to be warm.

At a glance, this workshop will include:

    1 - 2 hr workshop with 1-2 facilitators

Hands-on discovery of fabric types for the outdoors

Interactive activity to rate clothing's warmth-levels

A 'morning routine' play-by-play of how dressing for the weather looks and what new actions to take when planning what to wear for the day

Fundamentals of warmth - layers, air pockets, personalized clothing, movement considerations and other 'hot' tips

New language eg. "base layer," "shell," "poly," "flannel"

Personalized Q&A - participants will be encouraged to bring clothing items from home that they wonder about

Access to our second-hand fleece collection - each participant will receive an item of winter wear to keep

    Optional add-on’s:

    Dressing for the rain

    Dressing for the heat

    Dressing for bugs
