Skip that awkward dinner and join us this so-called “Thanksgiving” Weekend Oct 11-12, 2025

Little Lodge

For gentle queerdos & weirdos, busy adults, and those who are curiously seeking something new. Little Lodge is a weekend dedicated to sparking your curiosity, finding new patterns and filling up your journal’s pages.

Little Lodge is for you if…

✔️ Your old way of coping and caring for yourself is not working anymore and you are curious about a different way

✔️ You feel guilty when you take time for yourself and it's hard to say “yes” to yourself and “no” to the world around you

✔️ You care about cultivating and tending to your own inner life, but feel disconnected from that possibility and reality

You know that if nothing changes the path away from people-pleasing,
burnout, and
disconnection from yourself will become an overgrown bramble that’s hard to cull.

Little Lodge is a weekend-reset to kickstart your spark.

“I was able to just be me without any social expectations, go forest bathing, spend time in nature, and practice trusting my gut.”

“I am taking a new sense of self with me”

At first, you are nervous - you have never done this before. But the lake is stunning and the people friendly.

Then, almost without noticing, things start to shift.

You are no longer worried about what other people think or say. You can hear your own inner voice again. You are surprised at the strength and intensity of your own wants and needs.

Trusting your body’s cues seems like the easiest thing to do.

Your nervous system finally drops out of fight or flight.

After two days, you’ll look around and notice: you can breathe out, finally. Your journal and your body are full of new insights, you feel a little bit less lost, your feet are firmly planted on the ground.

The Path We Walk

“I loved the length of this trip, the times to check in and talk through our experiences and all the book quotes.”

“After Little Lodge, I feel so at peace and like I need to do this all the time.”

“Before Little Lodge, I loved and had a great relationship to solitude, but I had a difficult time feeling my feelings. During, I felt supported to try and access those feels. After Little Lodge, I felt the greatest peace I’ve felt in a long time. Whole. Good.”

  • About 90% of our participants are 2SLGBTQIA+, however, we find it's more about being queer as an outlook on life, whether you're straight, bi, disabled, BIPOC, or neurodivergent - Emberwood really vibes with all people who like to trust their intuition, think outside the cultural norm, love learning deeply about themselves, and find meaning in the world. If you like scientifically-backed woo-woo, come on down.

  • Payment plans available by email request. Many people pay with a payment plan.

  • All meals provided, catered to your dietary needs. We can cook gluten free, vegan, low FODMAP and more. There is food out and available at all times. You are welcome to bring more of your own. We are happy to discuss bathroom hacks, be in touch! We are ED informed and have a no diet-talk norm.

  • God no. ahah, no no. Emberwood is all about going very slowly in nature or sitting. Many trips can accommodate wheels, and we offer shuttles down to the lake in the car. We are fat positive, and pro health at every size. This trip is nothing to do with exercise lol.

  • Folks often carpool. Come to the Warmth Workshop night to set up your carpool in person.

Leadership by expert eco-therapy guides

Howdy, I’m Fergus, one of Emberwood’s founders and your guide. I'm an extrovert, but I'm all about solitude - it's the only way I can really hear my truth without all the confusion of others' needs and life's complexities clamouring for my attention and getting in my way. I am looking forward to passing on how the benefits of positive solitude therapy can work for you too! It's the only way I make major life decisions now, solitude gives me such clarity and insight.

"Hi, I’m Jude. As a therapist and outdoor guide, I really believe in nature as therapy. My experiences of ‘solos' is that they are the quickest, most reliable and most joyful way for me to remember who I am, find out what I want, and heal old patterns. This modality lets me be in touch with - and enjoy - my inner world, which is something I believe all people deserve. We don't have to be scared of who we are or what we want.

It continually amazes us to see what’s possible when folks trust their gut and do something wildly outside of their comfort zone.

We know you might be thinking, “how can I justify taking time to be with me - haven’t you seen how the world is burning?”

We have. And that’s why solitude works: you finally get to take a step out of the fray, take a deep breath, and be held in a gentle space that lets you settle and find your way back to centre.

Yes, the world will still be burning. And you could keep doom scrolling.

Or, you could come be with you (and us). Dig out your journal, pack your cozy clothes, and be the radical version of you that knows you matter too.
