The Solitude Collective is an immersive experience of sustained solitude practices for living in full alignment with your true self. Join the collective where we make our shifts stick.

THE SOLITUDE COLLECTIVE

Solitude is radical. But then, so are you.
Our first-ever, 12-month, high-level Solitude Therapy program

It feels like people are coming at you from all sides.

A good but PACKED life and guilt-riddled social media constantly showing you the world is falling apart. And somehow in there you’re suppose to do all this healing from the past AND make time to have fun with your people.

Even therapy has homework.

It’s so easy to prioritize everything and everyone except your inner life.

Life can be relentless - especially when stuck, or going through a major life change.

But you are ready to work for big inner change.

We hear ‘listen to your body,’ we hear, ‘feel your feelings.’
That all sounds great - but how? What does that really mean?
And even more importantly - when would I make time to do that?

The Solitude Collective blocks off time for when you’ll find answers:

  • Gather your inner most truth - in person 2X per month

  • Create weekly rituals of solitude to live aligned with your authentic self

The Solitude Collective and is all about
how to find insights:

  • Learn HOW to find out what you really think and want.

  • You will make major shifts on your most pressing concerns.

  • Put simply, get un-stuck in areas that are most important to you.

“While breakthroughs are important and thrilling, it’s the subsequent stabilization and integration of the breakthrough into daily life that really allows the changes to be permanent.”

— Gay Hendricks

Sustained knowing. Major shifts.
No more performing - the real you again.

Seasonal Rhythm

Fall 2025

Feel the feels

We are still building the program - this is our pilot year and we welcome your ideas on what you would like to see. However, the following is what is arising right now.

The first part of the program includes a lot about feeling:

  • Learn HOW to hear your ‘body’s’ knowing

  • Learn how to feel your feelings, and do it

  • Dive deep into meaning-making: nature has meaning and we can learn to read it’s symbols

Winter

Waning - let it go

Once we know how to feel, and what we are really feeling, then we will move into really clearing out the old.

You will be able to discern what is your truth and what is old trauma.

Let go of fixing others, let go of persona (performing roles), let go of a ton of society-specific nonsense.

You will know what is YOUR answer vs. what is your pattern from others. In this block, you will let go tons of what is not yours.

Spring and summer

Waxing - integrating the new

By now, you have cleared out a lot and know what you are all about. Here’s where you get to add beautiful things in, new and true to you.

You will learn somatic practices to get that new to finally stick.

Fall 2026

Harvest - year-end trip

Bring it all together with a huge rite of passage - your culminating trip, a ritual to honour the whole year of work, learning, and joy.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • The general flow will be two Sunday afternoons a month in person - but not always the same Sundays (it depends on holidays, Emberwood trips, etc.)

The other Sundays have a check-in via email, with ideas to engage with at home. So, you can just book a block off for yourself EVERY Sunday afternoon.

Where? The Emberwood space in south Edmonton, and its nearby creek. Year-end trip at Narrow Lake.

  • We take applications and build an amazing group. The cohort will be the same the whole year, and the year-end trip will be private: just us.

And, as usual, the cohort will be packed with ‘your’ people - - -

About 90% of our participants are 2SLGBTQIA+, however, we find it's more about being queer as an outlook on life, whether you're straight, bi, disabled, BIPOC, reclaiming fatness, or neurodivergent - Emberwood really vibes with all people who like to trust their intuition, think outside the cultural norm, love learning deeply about themselves, and find meaning in the world. Scientifically-backed woo-woo - we’re here for it!

  • If you’re craving depth and getting real with your inner work, this is for you. You’re also welcome to approach the Emberwood team, we love a chat about what’s-next & what’s-best for folks.

You’ll also know on Little Lodge - the prerequisite trip. If you loved the vibe of your Emberwood trip and want take this learning deeper a couple times a month, Kindling is a good fit.

  • Haahah yep - you know us! We will get you out there monthly in all seasons. And, as usual, you can borrow gear and clothes. You can even keep your warm stuff at Emberwood if you want.

  • We expect folks will miss a couple sessions over the year. No worries, we accounted for this, and the month has a theme, so you won’t miss any concept entirely.

You can feel confident to give Kindling a go. If you try Kindling for a few Sundays and it’s not a good fit for you or for us, we will finish off payment with you for that month, and then stop any future payments.

Plus, life happens! If a crisis happens and you need to step back for the rest of the program, same thing - we will complete payment for that month, then you can step back.

In both cases, we will invoice you for the site fees and hard costs we incurred for holding a cabin for you at Narrow Lake.

  • Do you really? Are you sure?

Yes, it will really help that this is booked into your calendar. Absolutely.

But we don’t want this to become one more guilt-riddled task you avoid. No more “I can’t go back to physio ever again cause I never did my exercises,” no more “I must not be making progress in therapy because I didn’t do the homework she assigned.”

    This is not that.

Come when you come. Do what you do. Yes, we are going to work hard. But Emberwood is invitational. You are an adult now. We aren’t the therapist - nature is. And it’s not about doing things for others (mom) anymore - it’s about doing it for yourself because it’s joyful and you like it. No more guilt or fear as motivation.

We’ll show you how to get to this juicy place. You’ll like it here.

EDIT IN KINDLING SPECIFIC WELCOME

"Howdy, I’m Fergus, one of Emberwood’s founders and your guide. I'm an extrovert, but I'm all about solitude - it's the only way I can really hear my truth without all the confusion of others' needs and life's complexities clamouring for my attention and getting in my way. I am looking forward to passing on how the benefits of positive solitude therapy can work for you too! It's the only way I make major life decisions now, solitude gives me such clarity and insight."

"Hi, I’m Jude. As a therapist and outdoor guide, I really believe in nature as therapy. My experiences of ‘solos' is that they are the quickest, most reliable and most joyful way for me to remember who I am, find out what I want, and heal old patterns. This modality lets me be in touch with - and enjoy - my inner world, which is something I believe all people deserve. We don't have to be scared of who we are or what we want.

We hope you’ll join us.
